Dan Walker wows fans with his facial hair transformation as he debuts moustache

Dan Walker impressed his fans as he showed off his dramatic facial hair transformation on Instagram.

The BBC Breakfast host uploaded a video with his new moustache to his social media account as he grinned into the camera looking more than pleased with himself.

Dan, 44, seemed to be thoroughly enjoying his change of style in the clip, dressed in a white shirt and purple tie with a snug coat over the top of his suit for the recording.

At the end of the short clip, Dan is heart giggling as he exclaims: "You're ridiculous," before uploading the video writing: "What do you think?"

His BBC co-star Sally Nugent was quick to reply and voice her support for the new look as she said: "Love it."

One keen fan then added: "It’s a yes from me."

Another commented: "You suit it Dan. It makes you look very dapper."

A third joked: "Disheveled 70s TV detective who’s down on his luck, just waiting for that one nick to bring him back to the top of his game, and back into the arms of his Missus!"

But not everyone was a fan of the nifty facial hair with some Twitter users admitting they weren't so convinced by the change of style.

One wrote: "No no no – looks like you might be selling black market stockings from a suitcase!"

Another added: "Dan, that is just so wrong, a certain type of 70s movie springs to mind."

Luckily it seems highly likely the facial hair was just the work of a filter and not a permanent new addition to his face.

Dan meanwhile has expressed his concerns for the people of Ukraine after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched attacks on the country overnight.

He wrote: "Thinking of Ukrainian friends today. It must be a very scary time for anyone who lives there and those with friends and family in that beautiful country."
