EastEnders Shona McGarty admits she keeps bedroom crisps habit off dating apps

EastEnders star Shona McGarty has confessed there's one particular bedroom habit that she will be keeping off the dating apps.

The Whitney Dean actress split up with her fiancé Ryan Harris after an 18-month engagement, but previously admitted it was amicable.

As the 30-year-old gets ready to head into 2022, she's now admitted she's ready to find love, saying she's "really happy at the moment".

But she won't be using dating apps to give her a hand, even if finding romance when the country is in and out of lockdowns has been difficult.

She told The Sun: “It’s been quite hard to date this year, and I’ve actually never been on a proper date, because I find it awkward. I prefer it when things are natural.

“Tinder is just not for me. What would I put on the profile? ‘Likes eating Monster Munch in bed? Takes long baths?’ Forget swipe right, they’d delete the app."

Despite seeing some of her friends have success on dating apps, Shona is adamant that they're not for her.

She added: "I'm much more of a people person, I like to meet someone in real life."

On EastEnders, Shona's character Whitney doesn't have much luck in her love life either – and discovered that her ex-boyfriend Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) killed his wife Chantelle.

Whitney is determined to tell Gray's wife-to-be Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) the truth before they tie the knot.

But with killer Gray still on the loose, fans are now fearing that Whitney could become his fourth victim, after also murdering Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi.

Shona is remaining tight-lipped on what happens to Whitney or Gray though – even keeping her own mum and dad in the dark.

They will all get together to watch the Christmas episode on December 25 though, as they have before she even joined the BBC soap.

And unlike pal Maisie Smith, who recently exited the soap as her character Tiffany Butcher, Shona has no plans to leave.

She said: "She’s missed, we all miss her. Seeing her leave has made me look back over my time on the show. But I have no reason to leave."
