Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis | Official Trailer 2022
Over the last 70 years, James Burton has performed with all the greats and is the only guitarist to have played with all four members of the Million Dollar Quartet and the Rat Pack.
The 83-year-old, who shows little sign of stopping, is best known as Elvis Presley’s TCB band leader.
The guitar player performed alongside The King on his tours and most famously his Las Vegas residencies.
He’s one of the few people left alive today who personally knew the music icon, who died in 1977.
And during an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, he gave his verdict on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic.

The Elvis movie, which was released over a year ago, went on to be Oscar-nominated with titular star Austin Butler only just being beaten to the Best Actor Academy Award by Brendan Fraser.
The King’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who died suddenly in January, adored the movie. However, not all of Elvis’ friends and family agree.
In fact, the star’s cousin and last surviving original Memphis Mafia member Billy Smith said the movie was a “betrayal” of his legacy.
Burton, who attended the Graceland premiere with Lisa Marie and Butler shared his thoughts on the movie, which included an actor portraying him too.

Burton, who performed a special show with Sir Brian May in London earlier this summer, said of the biopic: “It was ok.
“Since I worked with Elvis there was some goods and some bads. Austin did a wonderful, great job.
“It kinda slid by a lot of stuff. Some of it looked fake to me, not really the real thing. It’s like when you take something real and fake it, it’s not the same.”
