Igor Bogdanoff has died following complications with Covid-19 just days after his twin brother Grichka passed away from the virus.

It has been claimed that the energetic French TV chef died from coronavirus in a Parisian hospital Paris after his late sibling died of the illness last week.

The TV presenter passed away on Monday afternoon, just six days after his brother's passing, both aged 72.

The star's loved ones confirmed the tragic news with a statement on Monday hours after his death as they grieved the entertainer's passing.

The statement read: "In peace and love, surrounded by his children and his family, Igor Bogdanoff left for the light on Monday January 3, 2022."

Igor's close friend and former French Minister of Education Lucas Ferry also confirmed that the star was in intensive care after he first contracted the virus in mid-December.

It comes after his beloved twin brother, Grichka, died on December 15 after he was reportedly hospitalised in Paris when he contracted Covid.

The cause of their deaths has not yet been confirmed.

It comes after a source close to the family told Le Monde that neither Grichka nor Igor was vaccinated against the deadly virus.

The star – who was married to the French writer and historian Amélie de Bourbon Parme before their divorce – has left behind six children.
