And on Tuesday (July 11) Stephen and Daniel updated their loyal legion of fans as they quit the UK for a holiday in Italy.

Taking to his Instagram, Stephen shared a slew of sweet snaps from their trip to visit the leaning Tower of Pisa.

In typical tourist fashion, the much-loved couple struck the famous pose next to the tower – which went down a treat with fans.

Stephen captioned the snap: “Pisa” followed by a tick emoji, and his followers rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“Oooo! Looking lovely,” gushed one person, as someone else proclaimed: “The obligatory photo, you did it!”

Echoing their thoughts, a third said: “Got to be done hasn’t it.”

Another remarked: “Love you two! Have fun.”

It comes after last month, Stephen revealed that he was made the victim of a vile homophobic attack on the street.

The hairdresser claimed that he received abuse while walking along the seafront this week in Hove, his hometown, with his husband Daniel Lustwig.

Stephen took to Instagram on Wednesday June 28 to open up about the incident, where he declared that "the fight continues" against homophobia.

He wrote: "Last night Daniel and I were called “f***ing f***ots” this was on hove seafront! The fight continues! Be aware be safe! #gay #pride #homophobiastillexists."

Fans were fuming that the TV star had to suffer such abuse and flocked to support the couple in the comments.

One wrote: "Oh I’m so sorry that happened to you !!!!!!!! Hope your both feeling ok. Just know we all love you both and these ignorant idiots don’t deserve your time!!!!!! Sending lots of love."

A second commented: "I’m so sorry this happened to you both. Be proud and strong."
