The BTS members are often expressing love for each other and with ARMYs. How they share that love, though, differs based on their personalities.
Here’s what we know about the fan-theorized love languages of the BTS idols.
There are seven members in the award-winning K-pop group BTS
The BTS members have not publicly shared what their love languages are. However, with over seven years since their debut, ARMYs have a pretty good idea of which of the five love languages — words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, gifts — these artists gravitate toward.
What are the love languages of the BTS vocal line?
The BTS members are pretty different, especially when it comes to expressing and receiving affection. Jimin is often hugging and leaning against the other BTS members, whether that’s to comfort or congratulate them. As a result, some fans expect that Jimin’s love language is physical touch.
As the oldest member of the group, Jin often takes on more responsibilities within BTS. He would drive Jungkook to school and even offer emotional support to RM while the group was abroad. As a result, some fans suspect “Worldwide Handsome” Jin’s love language is “acts of service.”
V is a little tricky to read. One Reddit user wrote, “Tae is picky when it comes to people and touching, I think. He’s not good at expressing his love tho, so he likes to show it through action (gifts, taking care of someone), and I think [he] likes to receive love the same way. Quality time might be important, too, but only with certain people and not always.”
Jungkook is the youngest member of this K-pop group. Still, he often shares his love for BTS fans. Mostly, that takes the form of live streams where this artist answers questions and even sings for viewers. As a result, some ARMYs believe this idol’s love language is “Quality Time.”
What are the love languages of the BTS rap line?
Suga is more challenging to read than other BTS members. Still, some fans notice how he often produces songs for other members, sometimes checking in on them to make sure they are healthy and happy. As a result, ARMYs expect Suga’s love language is “Acts of Service.”
“Namjoon is a [words of] affirmation type of person, and he likes to say thanks since he’s good with words,” one Quora user wrote. “He knows how to express himself through his music and lyrics and speeches, which is an amazing quality to have.”
J-Hope is naturally good at gifting things to the BTS members and beyond. During one concert, he gave his bag to an ARMY in the audience. In 2021, according to Bandwagon, he donated 100 million won ($89,000) to children in Tanzania through the Seoul-based charity ChildFund Korea.
