Inside Instagram star Demi Rose’s life – from tragic deaths to rapper romances

Demi Rose might be best known for flashing her curves on Instagram for her 16million followers to enjoy, but she is so much more than that.

Turning 26 today, the influencer and model shares daily snaps and undoubtedly has made millions from flaunting how undeniably beautiful she is.

Her 26 years on this Earth has featured many things along the way, from success to heartbreak to horror.

Behind the sexy snaps, there is a normal and down-to-earth Brummie girl who left the UK to live in America and live out her dreams.

With spirituality often preached on her page and in her heart, she has appeared to manifest past what life chucked her way.

And good on her! Here are some of Demi's tougher chapters…

Parents dying months apart

Within just months, Demi lost her father, Barrie Mawby, in October of 2019, and then her mother Christine Mawby passed away in June 2019.

Barrie, who was 80 when he passed away, was a former bank manager, while Christine, 63, worked for the NHS.

Having older parents came with its struggles for the swimwear model, as she explained previously: "It's always been very hard with my parents as they’ve been older."

She says they have always been nothing but supportive of her dreams of modelling and encouraged her to follow her goals.

Back in 2016, Christine told Mail Online: "We're right behind her. She's such a beautiful girl, why shouldn't she? If you've got it, flaunt it."

Proud dad Barrie added: "She was always interested in beauty and a good-looking girl to boot. I could always see it coming as she's very ambitious."

The star has spoken out on her parents' deaths only a few times as she says it is understandably incredibly difficult to talk about.

On an Instagram Story during a Q&A she opened up on it to help people deal with grief.

A month after her mum died, she said: "It's been a month today since my mum passed away.

"On the day that it happened I was far behind with the UK time difference to LA, and I woke up to loads of texts. I didn’t believe that it could have happened.

"I mean I had already lost my dad, that was hard enough.

"My mum had been ill for seven years. She was disabled, and she was such a trooper. I feel like now at least now they’re both together, and they’re in peace."

She finished: "Everyone deals with grief differently. Hopefully, if any of you have been going through any grief you can find something in this that inspires you."

Her eating disorder

Something Demi does not speak about often is how she once suffered from an eating disorder when she was a teenager.

Demi revealed she once weighed just 80 pounds.

On her Instagram, she confessed: "I changed my life around. No longer were restricting myself and constantly taking pictures of myself week by week getting skinnier and skinnier.”

The model admitted that it "took a lot of willpower" to "stop hating" herself, but that she refuses to go back to that dark place again.

It was in 2014 that Demi told her secret bravely to the world.

On April 23 of that year, Demi made her first post on her Twitter about the mental illness as she tweeted that she had beat it.

Demi tweeted: "Proud to have gotten over an eating disorder and found peace with my own body.

"I've learnt to appreciate what I have, accept and work with it."

In another tweet, she added: "It was a year ago. The best thing I did was listen to someone and change. Happy now."

Delivery nightmare

While fame has its many, many perks it also has a lot of downfalls – such as not being able to get things delivered to your house.

Well, sadly for Demi, that is the case anyways.

In a 2017 Snapchat Story, the star revealed that she was no longer having things delivered to her home after delivery drivers kept taking advantage of having her number.

Abusing her personal information, the star said they would text her asking her out without asking if they could use her number for anything other than the delivery – the only reason they had it in the first place.

Demi recalled how one man asked her out and then begged her not to tell his employer leaving her frightened as she said he knew where she lived.

She said: "Today or tomorrow I could open the door to the wrong person.

"I've been safe so far but that's what why I'm stopping all deliveries to my house because it does take one sick person to go a step further."

Rapper romances

Demi had found some fame before she started dating rappers but she really blew up after these A-list romances.

In 2016 she started dating rapper Tyga following his romance with Kylie Jenner.

The pair began dating not long after Kylie and Tyga broke up but after a short stint with Demi, Tyga returned to dating Kylie.

In 2017 Demi told MailOnline how it annoys her when people still refer to her as Tyga's ex.

She told the publication: "I was quite known before I even met him but I'm still referred to as Tyga's ex."

In the same interview, she also insisted there is no bad blood between her and Tyga and her and Kylie.

On Tyga, she said: "We still talk now and then, you know, just 'how are you?' and stuff."

And on Kylie: "There are no bad vibes, between us, I think.

"People will always hate on me, I guess."

Escort scandal

Demi's career does feature one more controversial job, her time as a Taz Angel.

Earlier into her modelling days, Demi moved into a mansion filled with other models who were managed by Taz, who has frequently been compared to Hugh Hefner.

While Taz's Angels claims to be a mentorship program that helps train the girls to become wealthy and famous, it has drawn accusations of actually being a clandestine escort service.

Demi has also backed Taz and said no "illegal activity" took place.

Speaking to The Sun in 2016, she said: "No it was never like that at all.

"Not an escort agency at all. We were hosting clubs and having fun. Just being popular on social media and showing people a bit of our life."

She also credited Taz's Angels with helping build her international brand. "We went to parties and hosted clubs, we went to America, we saw the world. It did make me more internationally known."
