Ioan Gruffudd’s wife Alice Evans claims he has ‘secretly filed for divorce’

Hollywood actor Ioan Gruffudd secretly filed for a divorce, his estranged wife has claimed.

Actress Alice Evans has been married to the actor for 13 years, but has claimed that Ioan didn't inform her that he had filed for a divorce.

Official divorce documents have been lodged to the Los Angeles Superior Court by Gruffudd, who has appeared in a string of big movies during a successful TV and film career.

Sharing a news article about the impending divorce, Alice told her 56.8k Instagram followers: "Oh, ok. Thanks for letting me know I guess?" Followed by a sad confused face emoji.

The post read: “The publication claims that it is ‘unclear’ whether they have signed a prenuptial agreement or whether the actress will ask for child or spousal support.

“Since their marital woes came to light, Ioan has been pictured wearing his wedding ring around Los Angeles.”

Last month Alice claimed her husband had “walked out” on her and their two daughters, Ella (11) and Elsie (7), and that he “no longer loves her”.

She also claimed she’s been subjected to “mental torturing”, although the 49-year-old actress later deleted the social media post and admitted the pair were discussing a “legal separation” and insisted they were “still friends”.

She wrote: "Sad news. My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week.

"Me and our young daughters are very confused and sad. We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me.’ I’m so sorry."

She also recently shared an image of a broken heart with the message: “Nothing to say expect THANK YOU for all the loving and encouraging messages

“I never thought this would happen to us. I am still fighting against it because I love our kids and I still love him.

“But something has happened inside his head and, whatever it is, I don’t see him coming back to us.”

Ioan made his movie breakthrough in 1997 when he landed the role of Harold Lowe in the acclaimed Hollywood blockbuster Titanic, which featured Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

And after cameos in other big-budget films including Black Hawk Down and King Arthur, Ioan was one of the lead roles in the Marvel hit Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

He was nominated for an MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Team alongside Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis.

Three years later he starred in the follow-up movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which was nominated for a Teen Choice Award.
