Jesy Nelson left ‘devastated’ and told to ‘sack stylist’ after outfit blunder

Jesy Nelson is said to be "devastated" following a styling accident which caused her to face accusations that she is disrespecting the black community.

The former Little Mix singer is the front of blackfishing claims once again after appearing at Capital's Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard at London's O2 Arena and having an unfortunate wardrobe moment.

The 30-year-old star was pictured posing on the red carpet wearing an orange coat with the words "Market Black" written across her chest.

Jesy wore her hair draped over one shoulder and had the rest pulled back behind the other blocking out the word "Market."

Due to only one word being seen the star gave the illusion the jacket only stated the word "Black."

The singer's team shared the red carpet snaps which went viral to her Instagram account which was quickly deleted after backlash emerged.

The Sun claims the star is "devastated" after the negative comments.

It has been reported following the outfit mishap Jesy has been advised to fire her stylish.

The singer later changed into another outfit to perform at the O2 event.

A source said: “She had no idea, when her hair was pulled over one shoulder on the red carpet, that it was covering the start of the logo.

"Jesy was so upset when she was told what had happened and was shown the photographs. She was totally focused on her performance and this put a huge dark cloud over everything."

This is not the first time Jesy has faced blackfishing criticism.

She faced backlash after releasing her first solo music video featuring Nicki Minaj.

At the time, in an interview with Vulture, she said: “The whole time I was in Little Mix I never got any of that. And then I came out of [the band] and people all of a sudden were saying it.

“I wasn’t on social media around that time, so I let my team [deal with it], because that was when I’d just left.

“But I mean, like, I love Black culture. I love Black music. That’s all I know; it’s what I grew up on.”

She added: “I’m very aware that I’m a white British woman; I’ve never said that I wasn’t.”
