Joey Essex left shaken up after his £3million home was ‘ransacked by thieves’

Joey Essex has been left "shaken" up after his £3million home was "ransacked by thieves" while he enjoyed a night out with friends.

The former TOWIE star was left "horrified" when he returned to his luxury home from spending time with pals to find it ransacked.

As soon as he arrived back to his Essex pad in the early hours he realised one of the window's was cracked open.

He used his intuition to immediately ring the police.

Police have since confirmed they were investigating a break-in at a four-bed property in Chigwell, Essex.

A source told The Sun how the reality star now feels "unsafe" in his home.

They said: "Joey realised what had happened as soon as he got home with James Benwith, a friend of his.

“Thieves had thoroughly ransacked the place. Joey was horrified and very shaken. It’s made him feel unsafe in the home.

“The only thing to be grateful for is he was out when it happened.”

Joey purchased the home in 2014 for a massive £1.6 million and later showed it off on an episode of MTV's Cribs in 2019.

The 31-year-old who recently appeared on I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Australia often shares snaps and videos on social media from inside his lavish pad.

Joey has also shown ITV viewers around his bachelor pad home after appearing on This Morning.

His home features a "posh room" which he uses when family come round, a beach house, a hot tub and a large pool.

While taking part down under in the creepy crawley programme it has recently been rumoured he has been paid over $400,000 (around £200,000) for his stint.

The Essex star took part in the UK version of the show back in 2013 and finished in fourth place.

The Daily Star has reached out to Joey's representatives for comment on this story.
