Katya Jones looks unrecognisable in throwback snap with Strictly co-star Luba

Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones has shared a sweet throwback snap of herself alongside fellow dancer Luba Mushtuk ahead of this weekend's show in Blackpool.

The 33-year old Russian looked unrecognisable in the photo, in which the pair could be seen standing on the steps of the Tower ballroom some 20 years ago.

In a second image the duo recreated their original shot two decades on, appearing together in the same spot they had done as children all those years ago.

Captioning the pics, Katya penned: "Two little girls with big dreams standing on the stage of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom… 20 years later – two women with their dreams fulfilled standing on the stage of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. The circle is complete.

"Here is your answer to the question – why is Blackpool so significant to dancers? #strictlycomedancing #strictly #scd #katyajones."

"20 years ago I was already wearing black," Luba joked in response.

Fans clearly loved the sentiment with one commenting: "So much love for this. Well done for being such an inspiration and for following your dreams and for working so hard to achieve them."

A second wrote: "This shows what an incredible friendship you guys have."

A third added: "Incredible. Prime example of never give up on your dreams, you guys should be so proud of yourselves. lots of love."

And a fourth quipped: "You two lovely ladies have been on an amazing journey where your dreams have been fulfilled."

Katya, meanwhile said she thinks celebrity dance partner Tony Adams would "blame" her for their withdrawal from the BBC show last Sunday night (November 20).

Speaking to host Rylan Clark on spin-off show It Takes Two, she awkwardly laughed as Tony explained his reasons for pulling out of the competition.

She then made a quick but brutal swipe at the former Arsenal star and said: "He's gonna blame me for leaving the competition now!"

Tensions were thought to be rising between Tony and Katya after a clip showed the pair in a seemingly heated discussion in the background after they performed a blunder-filled Salsa.

Tony later revealed that Katya had "shouted" at him during the live show.
