Long before Olivia Rodrigo was on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, she was on Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark. Back then, one of her co-stars was Jake Paul, whose brother Logan Paul is a big name in YouTube. Years ago, the older Paul brother predicted that Rodrigo would become a huge success.
Olivia Rodrigo worked with Jake Paul on the Disney Channel show ‘Bizaardvark’
Bizaardvark starred Rodrigo as Paige Olvera from 2016 to 2019 alongside Madison Hu, who played Frankie Wong. Their characters were vlog stars on Bizaardvark, and Disney Channel brought along real-life vlogger Paul to play Dirk Mann. The younger Paul brother made a name for himself on YouTube just like his older brother.
He starred in 42 episodes from 2016 to 2018 per IMDb and clearly got to know Rodrigo enough for his brother to have an opinion on her.
YouTuber Logan Paul predicted Olivia Rodrigo’s success in 2019 long before ‘drivers license’ and ‘good 4 u’
“Olivia Rodrigo, she was on my brother’s show Bizaardvark,” the older brother said on his podcast in 2019, per TikTok. “I think I met her and you know, she was like 13, 14. [She had] 3,000 followers.”
“Now she’s in the Disney machine, she’s got 1.1 million,” he continued. “This girl has insane talent, she can sing too. Mark my words right now — what year is it? 2019. This girl could be like an Ariana Grande-type, Zendaya personality. Cause she’s mega-talented.”
He then recalled his first encounter with Rodrigo and knowing that she’d be a big star.
“It was so interesting, I remember meeting her for the first time, she had such a small following, was so down-to-earth,” Paul concluded. “I remember looking at her, like, ‘I know exactly what you’re gonna become in the next five years.’”
Logan Paul was right — Olivia Rodrigo became a huge star after Disney Channel with ‘sour’
After Rodrigo was on Bizaardvark for a few seasons, she then starred on Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She was launched into super-stardom following her hit single “drivers license” in January 2021, which was a surprise viral hit.
Subsequently, Rodrigo released her debut album “sour,” a scathing breakup album filled with vulnerable lyrics and bitter songs. Rodrigo’s album found a relatable audience in people of many ages, relating to the teenage singer-songwriter.
The album did well — it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The singer celebrated her single successes for “drivers license,” “deja vu,” and “good 4 u” on her Instagram account, as well as “sour” as a whole.
She released numerous music videos for each single, racking up millions and millions of views. Rodrigo is currently starring on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2. Her character, Nini, is studying acting at a boarding school away from East High. Her classmates on the show are performing Beauty and the Beast for the school’s spring musical.
Rodrigo hasn’t revealed anything about a next album, and is seemingly riding the high that “sour” has. As for Paul, he has been pursuing boxing matches in addition to his podcast and YouTube career.
