Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter slams Adele after she postpones Vegas shows

Adele has been slammed by Loose Women's Janet Street-Porter over her decision to cancel her Las Vegas yesterday just hours before she was to go on stage for her first gig.

Adele sobbed in a Twitter clip as she said the main reasons to delay her 24 gigs – called Weekends With Adele – was due to "half her team" being struck down with Covid and because of "delivery delays".

She told how she was "upset", "really embarrassed" and "so sorry to everyone that traveled [to the show]".

The Rolling In The Deep star's decision has been met with anger by fans who had travelled to Las Vegas to see her show at Caesers Palace, a gig in which tickets were priced up to £20,000.

Now Loose Women panellist Janet has branded the songstress "self-obsessed" as she hit out at her for having the "bare-faced cheek" to let her fans down.

Writing in her Daily Mail column, Janet said: "She’s been on a journey from wealthy woman to incredibly rich and self-obsessed global star. That doesn’t grant you the right to treat fans so appallingly, hoping that a snivelling apology will soften the blow.

"Adele has made millions from mining the trauma of her ‘journey’ from humble beginnings to millionaire single mum – but I (and many disgruntled fans) have decided to get off the bus after the latest catastrophic episode in her Saga of Sobs.

"I don’t know which was more jaw-dropping; Snivelling Adele’s feeble attempts at an apology to the camera with perfect nails on display, addressing us ordinary folk as if we were queuing for a bag of fish and chips (her actual words ‘My show ain’t ready’) – or the bare-faced cheek of coming to that decision just two days before kick-off.

She added that "somehow this carefully stage-managed attempt at sympathy doesn’t seem believable" and "anyone might think she’s been studying footage of the Master of Non Apologies Boris Johnson".

Many fans from across the pond were furious after highlighting that they should've had more notice about the cancellation of the shows.

One dissatisfied ticket holder said: "We took time off work, paid for hotel and flights. We're here in Vegas for the show and now we have nothing. Refunding us for our hotels and flights would be great. . ."

Another added: "Seriously? Postpone if you need to, that's fine — but 28 hours before? I flew in this morning. Are you going to refund me my flight, hotel, and the rapid Covid test that was mandatory? This is so f***ed up."

A third wrote: "I'm not trying to make you feel worse, but we are normal people. I just don't understand how/why you couldn't let us know a week ago.

"Most hotels have a 72-hour cancellation policy. I was told I will be charged the full amount."
