Love Islands Gemma Owen supported by pals as she shares familys sudden death

    Love Island's Gemma Owen has been supported by her pals and fans after announcing some heart-breaking family news of a sudden death.

    The brunette beauty, 19, who shot to fame last summer, took to Instagram on Monday (February 6) to announce the sad news that her beloved horse Sirius Black had died.

    Gemma, an international dressage rider, was very close with her black gelding horse, who had a nickname of Siz.

    Sharing the news of her horse's passing, Gemma shared a moving video that displayed clips and photos of her with Sirus.

    In the caption of the touching video montage, Gemma wrote: "On Friday we lost my horse of a lifetime due to a sudden and severe illness words can’t describe how much this horse meant to me and my family, he was truly one in a million.

    She went on: "Everyone who met Siz will know how amazing and caring his temperament was. He was taken far too soon, he has left us all heartbroken and in complete shock.

    "You taught me so much Siz and I will never be able to thank you enough, you brought so much joy and happiness to our lives and you’ll never be replaced. I love you endlessly."

    New mum Molly-Mae Hague,. who is also a former Love Island star and a colleague of Gemma's, was among those quick to show their support. "Gemma I’m so sorry, this is beyond heart-breaking. Stay strong beautiful."

    While another person penned: "Oh Gemma that's just devastating. I'm so sorry for your loss."

    "As a horse owner myself I cannot express how sorry I am for you. He looked a magnificent horse. I’m so sorry," wrote a third.

    While a fourth added: "Oh God. So sorry. Horses leave hoofprints all over our hearts."

    Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, with Unseen Bits on Saturdays and Aftersun at 10pm on Sundays.
