Former Love Island star Kem Cetinay is said to be "devastated" after a shock crash involving his Mercedes, left a motorcyclist dead today.

The Sun have reported that the 26-year-old was involved in the crash while driving near Hornchurch in his Mercedes G-Wagon 4×4.

A biker is understood to have crashed into Kem's car, but there is no indication of any wrongdoing.

The paper reports that paramedics "fought to save the motorcyclist, but he tragically died in the accident".

Kem's representative has released a statement today that confirms the star was involved in a road traffic accident today (Thursday, August 4).

They confirmed that the incident happened close to the star's home in the Brentwood at around 11.30am, and that Kem was unharmed.

"Tragically, a motorcyclist died in the collision," the statement confirmed.

"Kem has been assisting the police and is being treated purely as a witness to the incident.

"Kem will be making no further comment on this matter aside to offer his deepest condolences, prayers and sympathies to the motorcyclist's family and friends."

The 27-year-old star shot to fame when he appeared on and won Love Island in 2017.

He won alongside Amber Davies, with the pair staying together for a short while after the show, but splitting 132 days after they won.

The much-loved star went on to appear on a slew of TV shows like Dancing On Ice and This Morning.

Still involved with Love Island, he co-hosts The Morning After podcast with Arielle Free.

Away from TV Kem has a substantial following on social media, with over 2.6million on Instagram alone.

His latest post on the photo-sharing platform saw him host the launch of the new series of Love Island USA.

Taking to Instagram he posted a snap from the night and penned: "What a mad experience to host the launch night of @loveislandusa newly on @peacocktv. Thankyou for having me."
