Mary gushed: “She was absolutely wonderful and lovely, she is a good baker. Her mother is a good baker and she wants to do things well – she does it with a smile and she’s a really good mum.”

Mary wore a stunning pink dress covered in embellishments, sequins and jewels with a white trim as she flashed a smile on the red carpet.

To top off her look, Mary added a string of large pearls around her neck and wore her hair in a classy bob.

She wore minimal makeup, just mascara and pink lipstick were noticeable, and was eager to open up about Kate as she walked down the red carpet into London’s Grosvenor House.

Kate has previously revealed that one of her son’s first words was actually Mary’s name.

During BBC One’s A Berry Royal Christmas back in 2019, William and Kate battled it out to make the perfect roulade and Kate shared the sweet sentiment with Mary herself.

She said: “One of Louis’ first words was Mary because right at his height are all my cooking books on the kitchen bookshelf, and children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books.”

Kate explained that Louis would say “that’s Mary Berry,” which no doubt made a lasting impression on the star baker herself.

Mary spoke to Daily Star at the Pride Of Britain Awards, which are held annually and celebrate the good deeds, heroic behaviour and selfless acts of the general public.

In attendance are some of the biggest names in British showbiz and alongside Berry was influencer Molly-Mae Hague, BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker, Strictly Come Dancing legend HRVY and his girlfriend, Emmerdale actress Mimi Slinger.
