Lady Colin Campbell has blasted Meghan Markle’s video as "two fingers" up at the Royal Family.

Meghan celebrated her 40th in style alongside Hollywood pal Melissa McCarthy, who joined the Duchess of Sussex for a hilarious video call released last week.

With Meghan sitting at a desk in the office of her lavish Montecito mansion, the Suits actress has been compared to the Queen sitting in the Regency Room or White Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace.

And Prince Harry even got roped in to make a cheeky cameo, as he could be seen juggling in the background of the clip.

Now Lady Colin has had her own say on the humorous video, speaking to Express.co.uk about her thoughts on Meghan.

The aristocrat, real name Georgia Arianna, theorised: “If not a deliberate act of malice, I think it’s a send-up and a send-up serves a dual purpose.

“Because to those who don’t get the message, that they’re really doing two fingers to the Royal Family and denigrating them.”

Lady C picked up on the comparisons to Queen Elizabeth, adding that she has plenty of furniture in the palace that is "well worth showing”, whereas she would "bet her bottom dollar" that the Sussexes have “no furniture worth seeing".

She fumed: "Can you imagine how debased it is for a Prince of the United Kingdom to be juggling his balls, like a tacky court jester.

"The whole thing is a study in humiliating Harry and he’s too dumb to see it."

The controversial I’m a Celeb star said in a video posted to YouTube: "I can tell you something, if a scenario like this had been brought in when they were under the aegis of the palace, it would have been kiboshed from the word go.

"Of course Meghan then would have said, ‘Those ghastly men in suits, they’re all snobs’.

"No woman of any decency would do anything to humiliate her husband or to humiliate anyone else."

But the sweet video actually served another purpose – for Meghan to launch her mentoring scheme, which will help support women who want to get back into the workplace.

It involves 40 activists, athletes, leaders and artists who each contribute 40 minutes of their time – so is aptly dubbed 40×40.

Speaking on her birthday, Meghan told pal Melissa: "Because I'm turning 40 I'm asking 40 friends to donate 40 minutes of their time to help mentor a woman who's mobilising back into the workforce."

"Over two million women in the US alone and tens of millions around the world have lost their jobs due to COVID.

"And I think if we all do it and all commit 40 minutes to some sort of active service, we can create a ripple effect."

Lady C has made no secret of her dislike for the royal couple, after they stepped back from royal duties in a bid for privacy and to protect their mental health.

Speaking in a YouTube video, Lady C said the pair have "no boundaries", elaborating: "Harry knows that the Queen is a very tolerant person and so he and the wife have bee taking full advantage of her tolerance in the hope that they would get away with everything."
