Millionaire Kylie Jenner asks fans for donations as her friend has accident

Kylie Jenner, 23, is the talk of Twitter after asking her fans and Instagram followers to donate to a GoFundMe for her friend, makeup artist Samuel Rauda.

The reality starlet has come under fire for suggesting her followers dig deep, while donating just $5,000 herself, despite having an estimated net worth of $900million (£649m).

Samuel had an accident earlier this month and hit his head on the pavement, which caused internal bleeding and brain injuries.

One of his friends confirmed the "awful accident", saying Samuel "flew off a moving vehicle and crushed his head into the pavement".

He had surgery on his injuries and now his family have shared a GoFundMe, hoping to raise $120,000 for his medical bills. It currently sits at just over $97,000.

Kylie shared the page on her Instagram story for her 222million followers earlier this week, and wrote: "May God watch over you and protect you @makeupbysamuel. Everyone take a moment to say a prayer for Sam who got into an accident this past weekend. And swipe up to visit his family's GoFundMe."

The mum-of-one is listed among the top donations, after pledging $5,000 to the medical fund.

Other celebrities on the list include beauty mogul Huda Kattan, actress Bella Thorne, Scott Disick's ex Sofia Richie, Bebe Rexha and former Shahs of Sunset beauty and false lash queen Lilly Ghalichi.

But Twitter users have hit out at Kylie for asking her followers to donate, despite giving just a smidgen of her own wealth.

Of course, she was under no obligation to donate anything at all, but fans have still been left rattled.

The star has been trending on Twitter, with many making digs about the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star.

One said: "Kylie Jenner really asked us for money like we made the Forbes list."

Another tweeted: "I know Kylie Jenner ain't asking me for $60,000 for her makeup artist's brain surgery… meanwhile sis makes over $450,000 a day."

A third wrote: "Kylie Jenner the 'self made billionaire' asking people donate."

Someone else moaned: "Wait so Kylie Jenner's makeup artist got into a car accident and needed $60,000 for emergency brain surgery and she asked her fans to donate? And then only donated £5,000 when she's a literal billionaire? The wrong people have money."

And a fifth added: "It's the fact that Kylie Jenner owns purses that cost more than her close friend's emergency brain surgery and she's out here begging poor people to donate to his GoFundMe page… that doesn't sit right with me."

Forbes celebrated Kylie as a "self made billionaire" in 2019, however they demoted her to just a millionaire after further looking into her net worth, which they put at $900m – which is still nothing to scoff at.
