Oasis recording new album 12 years after split – but without Liam Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has revealed he is recording a new Oasis album 12 years after the band split, but brother Liam Gallagher won't be involved.

The musical brothers have been feuding since 2009, when the group initially split.

And Liam will not be involved in the new album, which will consist of 14 Oasis songs that didn't make the cut on previous albums.

Noel, 53, said: "I've listed the proper songs and there were 14. They just fell by the wayside of various projects from down the years.

"I'm going to record them. Some are quite old school."

He added to The Sun: "I was looking at the track listing and thinking, 'Actually, f***ing hell, no I’d approach that song differently. It’s been very interesting."

Both Noel and Liam, 48, continued with music after Oasis split up.

Noel became the frontman of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam went on with Beady Eye before pursuing a solo career.

Back in 2009, Noel released a statement which read: "It is with some sadness and great relief… I quit Oasis tonight.

"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

Despite publicly feuding ever since, even dragging in each other's family, Liam continues to fuel speculation that the band could get back together.
