The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan's wife has offered an update on the singer's health amid a frantic hospital dash.
Victoria Mary Clarke explained Shane is being treated for an infection.
Reaching out to give her Twitter followers an update, Victoria said: "I just wanted to thank everyone who has been sending good wishes for @ShaneMacGowan, he is being treated for an infection and the doctors are confident that he will be ok.

"I am just incredibly grateful to them and to all of you."
It comes after Victoria begged Shane's fans to "send prayers" to the ailing star, who has been left using a wheelchair after revealing he is "unable to walk".
He broke his pelvis after a fall in 2015, before breaking a knee and tearing a ligament in the joint.
On Monday (December 5), Victoria wrote: "Please send prayers and healing vibes to @ShaneMacGowan in hospital again and really hoping to get out asap!! Thank you."
Fans have been rallying around the star since his admission into hospital, as one wrote on Twitter: "That’s a wonderful news! Glad to hear Uncle Shane is doing okay sending him healing vibes & thank you Victoria for keeping us updating on his condition."
Another added: "That's so good to hear, thank you for keeping us posted. We'll keep sending him the good wishes, you'll keep being his strength."
As a third fan echoed: "So glad he is going to be okay! Great news!!! Thank you so much for letting us know."
"That’s wonderful news! I’m so glad to know he’s going to be okay! Thank you for sharing an update and he is still in our prayers as are you!" someone else posted.
Victoria has pledged to keep Shane alive for "as long as possible" amid his various health battles.
The Fairytale of New York singer has always been open about his battle with addiction, which has affected his health, and now requires a carer to help him get out of bed.
He confirmed he "can't walk any more" in an interview in April 2022.
After the years of alcohol and drug abuse took their toll on his teeth, Shane splashed out on a set of new gnashers in 2015, complete with gold incisors.
