Rebekah Vardy has opened up about her suffering after vile trolls labelled her a "rat" and even linked her to Madeleine McCann's disappearance following her loss of the Wagatha Christie libel case.

Last week, High Court judge Mrs Justice Steyn opted in favour of Coleen Rooney in the £3million libel battle after football star Wayne Rooney's wife alleged that Rebekah's Instagram account had been behind the leaking of stories about her to the press.

Leicester City football star Jamie Vardy's wife was left "devastated" and lacking faith in the justice system after the outcome was revealed.

The 40-year-old TV star has since opened up about her recent ordeal, explaining that some nasty online users had even suggested that she'd had something to do with Madeleine McCann's disappearance.

With Rebekah now receiving up to 100 threatening messages each day, she's now had to take drastic measures with security to ensure her own safety.

Mum-of-five Rebekah has maintained her innocence despite last week's ruling – with the judge describing her evidence as "manifestly inconsistent".

In an interview with TalkTV, she's described the aftermath as "awful".

The former Dancing On Ice star explained: "At its worst, I was worried to be on my own, to leave the house. I was scared to be out in public places."

Rebekah went on to add that she'd suffered abuse in person too, as she said: "Everyone always says: 'These people wouldn’t say things to your face,' but actually you do get the odd few that go that extra mile."

She continued: "The abuse I was getting was insane. At the beginning it would be 100 messages a day. I even got letters sent to my home, and some crazy s*** sent over including letters from psychics.

“I was linked to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, people suggesting I was a member of ISIS, stuff like that.

"It was as if I’d murdered someone. Every time something happened it was my fault, every time something new broke, it was my fault."

Although the judge ruled in favour of Coleen, Rebekah is adamant that her innocence will prevail as she confirmed that she would go through the courts again, if needs be.

After the outcome had been decided Rebekah took to Instagram to express how she was "extremely sad and disappointed" by the verdict.
