Romeo and Juliet choir boy actor Quindon Tarver dies in car crash

Actor Quindon Tarver has died. He was just 38-years-old.

The actor was best know for his role of a choir boy in the 1996 adaptation of Romeo + Juliet starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

The sad news was confirmed by his uncle Willie Tarver.

Trevor told US publication The Daily Beast: "He had an accident.

"All we know is he had a wreck, crashed into a wall somewhere on George Bush [Turnpike]. That’s all the information I have."

During Baz Luhrmann's film Quindon gave a moving renditions of Rozalla’s song, Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good).

He also covered Prince’s hit When Doves Cry.

Both of the songs appeared on the multi-million selling official Romeo and Juliet soundtrack.

As well as his role on the big screen, Trevor also had a small part in Madonna's iconic Like A Prayer music video.

Later on in his career he auditioned for American Idol – singing for the judges in both season two and season seven of Simon Cowell's hit TV show.

Heartbreakingly, in 2017 the singer told ABC News that he had been molested by someone in the industry.

He said: "I was hurting. I had been molested, I had been raped, I had lost my career, which is what I had dreamed of doing all my life.

"I had to come back home because someone did something to me … I began drinking and dabbling in drugs and I lost it, man. I spiralled completely."

As he battled drink and drug, Trevor also struggled with suicidal thoughts.

He cited 2016 as a turning point in his career after he was asked sing at a Prince tribute.

He perfromed When Doves Cry and says it helped motivate him to get to rehab.
