Rylan Clark assures fans ‘he’s good’ after breaking down live on radio show

Rylan Clark has broken his silence after reportedly crying on air amid the breakdown of his marriage.

The 32-year-old presenter broke down on his BBC Radio 2 show, while his coworkers played music to give him time to collect himself, it was claimed by The Sun.

In response to the claims, the Strictly: It Takes Two host took to his Instagram to assure his worried fans that he was doing okay.

"Couple of news stories today. Be assured, I'm good. I wasn't, but I am now x," he wrote against a black background.

It comes after sources told The Sun that Rylan’s colleagues were becoming concerned for him and had even offered him a year off to look after his mental health.

The insider said: "Rylan’s one of the BBC’s favourite stars.

"When he returned to work everyone supported him but when he broke down people were concerned he’d come back too fast.

“One of the BBC’s top brass was at the meeting. They even suggested he take a year’s break to focus on himself.”

The X Factor star had only just recently returned to work a month ago following a long hiatus after his marriage to Dan Neal broke down.

The star confirmed the couple were separating in June and released a heartfelt statement where he took the blame for the breakup.

He said: "I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”

He continued: "I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Since then Rylan has ruled out hopes of reconciliation and even dropped his husband’s surname.

Fans noticed that he was referred to as just Rylan while his co-host Janette Manrara's full name was on display on the Strictly spin-off show.

Rylan and Dan first began dating in 2013 when the police officer appeared on Big Brother and Rylan was presenting the spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.

They got engaged during a trip to Paris in 2014 and got married one year later, in a star-studded ceremony with Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford, Katie Price, and Emma Willis all attending.
