Saving Private Ryan actor Tom Sizemore dies in sleep at 61 after brain aneurysm

    Tom Sizemore has died at 61, his manager has confirmed in a statement.

    The Hollywood actor had been in a coma since collapsing on February 18 at his home in Los Angeles.

    Once in the hospital, doctors confirmed he had suffered a brain aneurysm caused by a stroke and had remained in intensive care since then.

    Confirming the news of his passing, his manager, Charles Lago, said: “It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore … passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank. His Brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”

    Tom’s manager Charles added: “The Sizemore family has been comforted by the hundreds of messages of support and love shown to their son, brother and father.

    “They are asking for privacy during this difficult time and I am asking for those wishes to please be respected.”

    Tom's brother Paul also released a statement, it reads: “I am deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom. He was larger than life."

    He added: “He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, and giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devastated he is gone and will miss him always.”

    The veteran Hollywood actor has starred in a number of massive blockbusters, including Natural Born Killers, Heat, Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down.

    Fans are honouring Tom after his passing.

    One fan posted a photo of Tom delivering one of his well-known lines: “Well ya know, for me, the action is the juice.”

    The fan wrote: “Rest in peace, Tom Sizemore. Hope there’s still action wherever you are now.”

    Another fan commented: “Great character, great movie.”

    "Truly devastating. What an actor," a third chimed in.
