The Gap Band founder Ronnie Wilson has died at his home in Tulsa

R&B legend Ronnie Wilson, founder of The Gap Band has died at his home in Tulsa.

Ronnie's wife Linda Boulware-Wilson confirmed the news to TMZ.

The star died peacefully at his home in Tulsa, at 10:01 am on Tuesday.

Linda said she was holding Ronnie's hand as he took his last breath.

It has been revealed that the star suffered a stroke last week and put him into a semi-coma which he never recovered from.

Over the years the musical legend suffered from multiple strokes.

On social media, Linda remembered her late husband as a "genius with creating, producing and playing the flugelhorn, trumpet, keyboards and singing music."
