The Wanted’s Tom Parker overjoyed as brain tumour shrinks after treatment

The Wanted star Tom Parker received some wonderful news this week, learning his brain tumour has shrunk in size following treatment.

The 32-year-old announced he had been diagnosed with an inoperable stage four glioblastoma last year, and has been undergoing treatment to reduce the tumour.

In an uplifting statement shared to social media on Thursday, Tom revealed he recently had an MRI scan and received positive results.

The singer explained the tumour has undergone a "significant reduction," thanking the NHS for all of their hard work and support.

He said: "I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumour and I am responding well to treatment. Everyday I’m keeping on the fight to shrink this b*****d!

"I can’t thank our wonderful NHS enough. You’re all having a tough time out there but we appreciate the work you are all doing on the front line."

Tom also paid tribute to his wife Kelsey Hardwick, promising to continue to fight the disease for their young family.

Kelsey gave birth to the couple's second child, a baby boy named Bodhi, last October, having welcomed their daughter Aurelia Rose in July of 2019.

He continued: "To my amazing wife @being_kelsey who has literally been my rock. My babies- I fight for you every second of every day.

"Friends, family and everyone on this journey with me- you have got me through my darkest days.

"To everyone on here- your love, light and positivity have inspired me. Every message has not been unnoticed they have given me so much strength.

"This journey is a roller coaster that’s for sure. Today is a f**king good day."

As a couple, Tom and Kelsey broke the news of his tumour last October, admitting they were "absolutely devastated" but vowing to fight.

Their shared statement read: "There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a brain tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment."

It went on: "We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options.

"It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey xxx."

Since sharing the news, Tom and Kelsey have received floods of support from their fans, with many keeping their family in their thoughts as his treatment continues.
