The Wanted’s Tom Parker shares emotional health update about his brain tumour

Tom Parker shared an emotional health update after doctors confirmed that his terminal brain tumour is “stable.”

The Wanted singer took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the joyous news with his ever-supportive loyal legion of fans who have been supporting him along his cancer journey online.

As he posted a sweet picture alongside his wife Kelsey Hardwick and their two children, the 33-year-old informed fans of the latest results of his recent MRI scan.

He added how the overwhelming news brought him to “tears” just after he passed the one-year mark since he was informed of his cancer diagnosis.

The star said he felt “a mix of emotions” and “couldn’t ask for any more” as he looks forward to spending a joyful Christmas with his family.

He penned: “I’m sat here with tears in my eyes as I tell you. We’ve got my brain tumour under control. We had the results from my latest scan … and I’m delighted to say it is stable.

“Such a mix of emotions. We couldn’t ask for any more really at this point; a year or so in to this journey.

“Honestly over the moon. We can sleep a little easier tonight,” he added.

The singer then went on to thank his 260,000 doting fans who have helped him as he documented his health journey online.

He continued: “Thank you for all your love and support over the last 12+ months. Love from Me, Kelsey, Aurelia & Bo.”

Tom was informed of his incurable tumour in October 2020 after he went through gruelling chemo and radiotherapy to fight the disease.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the father of two was alone when he found out the news, which he opened up about at length during his appearance on Stand Up 2 Cancer on Friday, October 15.

He has also documented his moving journey in his new documentary Tom Parker: In My Head in which he shared his fears for the future.

Speaking at the time, he said: “I don’t want people to treat me different just because I've got something, I think that was always on my mind.

“I do feel like I‘m in a much stronger place, but it’s so hard to think about the future. Do you know what I mean? I genuinely don’t know what it holds anymore.”
