Tom Bradby says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘feeling better’ in the US

Journalist Tom Bradby has revealed he thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are "feeling better" now that they live in the US.

Tom, 54, is good friends with Prince Harry as well as his older brother Prince William, and was invited to Africa in 2019 for Harry and Meghan's tour.

The ITV newsreader enjoyed in-depth conversations with the couple at that time, and soon realised they were very unhappy.

However, Tom believes they are in a much better place since stepping down as royals and moving to California with their young son Archie.

"I think they are feeling better," Tom said during an appearance on Alan Titchmarch's Love Your Weekend ITV show.

"There's been a huge amount that's happened this year that I can't talk about and that's not accurate and not right.

'The things they are doing they are excited by," he added.

In September 2020, Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, signed a private commercial deal with Netflix "to develop scripted and unscripted series, film, documentaries, and children programming for the streaming service".

And in December, it was announced that the former Suits actress had invested in Clevr Blends, a coffee company based in Southern California.

That month, the couple also signed a multi-year deal with Spotify to produce and host their own programs through their audio producing company, Archewell Audio – with the first episode released on December 29.

However, despite their new projects, Tom thinks the past 12 months haven't been easy for them.

"The situation with the family isn't ideal and its been a difficult year for them all," he said.

Speaking about how he felt making the documentary during the 2019 tour, he added: "I felt caught in the middle of them in that documentary – which is not a good place to be."

"I hope he's alright and I hope he'll be alright in what he's decided to do," Alan then said.

"The whole thing has been incredible painful. That's obvious to everyone," Tom replied.
