Why Billie Eilish Fans Were Fondly Known as ‘Avocados'

This artist is known for her activism when it comes to animal rights and the environment. She even shares some of her favorite foods with fans. One of Billie Eilish’s favorite fruits is an avocado, as seen by her Instagram account username.

Here’s what we know about the “Bury a Friend” singer and her fan base.

Billie Eilish is the Grammy Award-winning artist behind the album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go’

She may be young, but Eilish has grown into one of the most popular artists in the music industry. She earned millions of views on music videos for songs like “You Should See Me in a Crown” and “All the Good Girls Go to Hell.”

The “Happier Than Ever” singer became the youngest artist to win more than one Record of the Year Grammy Award. She also became the youngest artist to sweep the “Big Four” category during the 2020 award ceremony.

She even collaborated with Disney to bring a live concert experience to their streaming platform, Disney+. When Eilish first grew in popularity, she posted to social media with the username wherearetheavocados. As a result, her listeners adopted an avocado-themed fan base name.

Billie Eilish fans previously referenced to themselves as ‘avocados’

As a proud vegan, it’s no surprise that Eilish is a massive fan of everything avocado-related. At one point, her Instagram username was even wherearetheavocados. There wasn’t a deep meaning behind this account name, though.

“Then I made this grilled cheese once, I was in the kitchen, and I wanted some avocado,” the singer said during an interview with The Line Of Best Fit in 2017. “I was home alone, so I just screamed ‘where are the avocados,’ and I decided to make that my username, and here we are.”

“Now there are fan accounts like billiesavocados, herearetheavocados, therearetheavocados and it’s just this random thing I thought of four years ago,” she continued. In response to this avocado love, some fans referred to themselves as “avocados.” However, this fan base changed its collective fan name over time.

Billie Eilish friends referred to themselves as ‘eyelashes’

It’s been several years since Eilish originally released songs like “Ocean Eyes.” Over time, the performer and her fan base changed their collective name from “avocados” to “eyelashes.” According to Popbuzz, others refer to themselves as “Pirates,” inspired by Eilish’s middle name.

Similar to Justin Biebers’ “Beliebers” and Taylor Swift’s “Swifties, this fan base name, of course, is inspired by this Eilish’’ stage name. However, the “I Didn’t Change My Number” singer has not yet commented on her fan base’s name.

Music by Eilish, including the recently released album Happier Than Ever, is available on most major music streaming platforms. Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles is available on Disney+.
