Exorcisms on the rise as demons can attack you through texts, priest claims

A Catholic priest performs up to 20 exorcisms every week to free people and their homes from what he calls "demons and satanic evil."

Stephen Joseph Rossetti, 70, claims he's seen countless demons at work over his 13 years in the exorcism business and apparently it's getting worse.

From TVs turning on and off to people spewing foreign objects like nuts and bolts, the professor and priest has revealed all in his new book: Diary of an American Exorcist. Demons, Possession, and the Modern-Day Battle Against Ancient Evil.

Speaking to the New York Post, the 70-year-old said how exorcisms have "grown exponentially" over the past 10 years.

He added: "I think this is going to get much worse before it gets better."

Since technology has improved, the priest claims demons have been finding new ways to get at people.

Stephen said a woman contacted him after an upside-down cross appeared "burned" into her shoulder.

This supposedly happened while her father was receiving evil text messages from demons.

"The texts were a typical demonic rant," he said.

The messages were being sent from her phone number but Joseph claims there was no evidence of her sending them herself.

He continued: "By the way, several exorcists have had the same experience, getting texts from demons, and why not?

“In the past they messed with electronics — TVs and lights turning off and on by themselves. Now they mess with cell phones.”

The priest claims he has seen things "that are not humanly possible" although admits he has never witnessed levitation or spinning heads.

But Stephen claims he has truly experienced out of this world evil.

Recalling one exorcism, he wrote: "They were wagging [the possessed woman’s] finger at me and shaking [her] head.

“I had been commanding the demons to leave and the response was pretty clear: ‘No!’"

The priest poured holy water on the woman which reportedly caused her body to wildly spasm.

This is because, according to Stephen, holy water "engulfs demons in a holy torture worse than the fires of hell".

The priest has admitted that many of the people who contact him thinking they're "possessed" are suffering with a mental illness – but he says he has seen enough to believe.

He says everyone should be doing more to protect themselves from demonic attack – by putting crucifixes up in your room as well as religious statues and having holy water inside.
