Alton Towers reveals brand new ride opening this year – and it sounds terrifying | The Sun

ALTON Towers has revealed the first details of a new attraction coming to the theme park later this year.

Guests will be able to experience the new ride, set inside a haunted house, in the spring.

The Curse at Alton Manor will take visitors on a journey of twists and turns through a cursed manor.

While many details about the ride haven't been released, it will include visuals and special effects that are designed to scare and surprise thrill-seekers.

New concept art gives park-goers a glimpse into what they can expect including ghosts and ghouls.

Kate McBirnie, Head of Product Excellence at Alton Towers Resort, said: "The Curse at Alton Manor is no ordinary dark ride.

According to Kate McBirnie more details about the new ride will be released later this month.

The Curse at Alton Manor has been built on the former site of Duel – The Haunted House Strikes Back, after the former ride was abruptly closed last September.

When the theme park giant closed the ride, the company teased the possibility of another scary ride taking its place.

For those thrill-seekers in search of other scary experiences, Alton Towers is also home to Scarefest – a week-long Halloween festival featuring scare mazes and a tower of terror.

Alton Towers isn't the only UK theme park launching new attractions and rides this year either.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort have revealed a first look at the highly-anticipated Jumanji land where parkgoers can enjoy themed rides and food.

A new theme that has been dubbed the 'UK Disneyland' is set to open in 2025 after plans were scaled back last year.

Meanwhile Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Drayton Manor have been named the best theme parks in the UK.
