Big change to Disneyland Paris holidays from today

DISNEYLAND Paris guests can once again get up close and personal with their favourite Disney characters.

As of this morning, the theme park has scrapped socially distanced meet and greets, in a huge boost to families heading off to the happiest place on Earth.

Earlier this month, Disneyland Paris relaxed Covid rules and brought hugs back to the theme park – however, that rule only applied to some fur characters in outdoor areas.

But from today, the rule has been lifted entirely to include face characters and when indoors.

According to Mouse Steps, a spokesperson for the theme park said: "We are pleased to announce that as of April 1, all our character experiences at Disneyland Paris will allow our guests to get closer to beloved Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

"In particular, guests will be able again to spend a special moment with Mickey at 'Meet Mickey Mouse' or enjoy a royal meet and greet with a Disney Princess at Princess Pavilion."

Yesterday, the park saw the return of character dining, where guests could meet Mickey and Minnie.

The changes have come just in time for the park to turn 30-years-old on April 12.

Although the actual anniversary isn't for another two weeks, the theme park kicked off its birthday celebrations last month, and has installed a host of new attractions to mark the occasion.

A new daytime show is taking place daily in front of the newly refurbished Sleeping Beauty Castle which features more than 30 Disney characters and dancers on colourful floats.
