Included in the sale are seven-night European beach breaks with return flights and hotels to destinations like Malaga, Faro and Majorca from £199 per person.

Those looking to travel long-haul can find seven-night holidays to Barbados from £579 per person, all-inclusive trips to Antigua from £699 per person, or three-night mini-breaks to Dubai from £379 per person.

Flights are reduced too, with seats to New York from £329, Miami from £339 and California from £348 and Dubai from £341.

Some of the best deals on short haul holidays are:

  • Seven nights at the 4* Senator Marbella Spa, Malaga from £199pp
  • Seven nights at the 4* Corfu Holiday Palace, Corfu from £359pp
  • Seven nights, at the 3* Kefalonitis Apartments, Larnaca from £369pp
  • Seven nights, at the 4* Natura Algarve Club, Algarve from £359pp

The holidays have travel dates throughout 2021 and into early 2022, with deposits from just £60 per person to secure your trip.

Those looking to bag a bargain should move quickly, as the sale only runs until April 22.

British Airways has a flexible booking policy as part of their Customer Promise, which means you can move your flights or holiday for free if plans change with just three weeks notice, or get a full refund within 14 days if the trip can't go ahead.

You can also pay in instalments or wait to settle the balance on your holiday until three weeks before travel.

Andrew Brem, British Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, said: "We remain optimistic that international travel for non-essential reasons will be allowed from May 17, so after months of commitment and sacrifice Britons will be able to enjoy the holidays that they deserve."

Foreign holidays are still banned for Brits, with the government reviewing the ban on April 12 and borders reopening no earlier than May 17 although there are fears this may be too early due to the risk of importing Covid strains from abroad.

Currently being considered are vaccine passports, which Spain, Greece and Portugal have all backed to allow restriction-free travel, or a new traffic light scheme, confirmed by the government.

Different countries are set to be graded green, amber or red according to their vaccinations, infection rates, the prevalence of variants of concern, and their genomic sequencing capacity.

The green list is yet to be revealed, although could include low-risk countries such as Gibraltar and Malta, while red list countries currently include the UAE.
