Butlin's Easter holidays soar in price due to 'high demand' from desperate families – here is how to get the best deal

BUTLIN'S holidays have jumped in price during the Easter holidays due to demand, as desperate families try and get a UK trip booked.

With the new hotel quarantine rules making a trip abroad much more expensive, many Brits are opting to stay closer to home for their next trip.

However, the demand for staycations has also pushed prices up.

Butlin's has seen a spike in prices when it comes to the Easter holidays – a trip to Minehead during the Easter weekend costs £581, three times the price then if travelling a week before.

Butlin's explained: "Our prices vary based on demand and we are seeing high demand for certain breaks as guests are looking to holiday in the UK and get a break booked in for something to look forward to."

They aren't the only ones – Haven and Center Parcs have also reported a jump in price since the hotel quarantine announcement.

A seven-night stay at Center Parcs in Woburn Forest is just £978 on March 19 – but £2,498 on April 2.

Families can get a bargain if they book ahead – as Butlin's also offer to refund holidays if they go down in price.

This means that grabbing a holiday now is the best idea, as it protected families from a price jump later on.

Even reluctant staycationers can get something in the diary, as they also offer full refunds and free date changes.

They explain: "Our Butlin's Promise is added to every break free of charge which not only offers no quibble refunds and no fee date changes, but also our lowest price guarantee which means if prices drop, we'll refund the difference. We also offer all of our guests flexible payment plans with deposits as low as £10pp."

They currently have 40 per cent off holidays until February 2, starting from £99 – here is how to book.

Butlin's is to stay closed until March 1, and has no confirmed opening date.

Many campsites and hotels are offering free cancellations or date changes to encourage Brits to book a holiday.

Staycation holidays across the rest of the UK are seeing a boom too – Red Paxton, Director of Habitat Escapes holiday rentals says there has been a surge in bookings for the Cotswolds and Dorset.

He said: “As speculation around the introduction of hotel quarantine began, this past week we have seen an increase of 56% in holiday bookings for 2021, compared with the same period in January 2020.

"As hope for an international break begins to dwindle, families are now turning to UK staycations for their summer holidays with the vast majority of these bookings taking place in July and August."
