As part of Scotland's roadmap, self-catering accommodation will be able to open to guests from April 26.

On the same date, shops will also fully reopen and hospitality businesses will be able to operate fully outdoors.

It means Brits looking to holiday in the UK can now plan a break to Scotland.

There are some great deals to the country, including:

  • Haven Holidays 4-night May and June breaks at Craig Tara and Seaton Sands parks from £154 per stay
  • Sykes Cottages 3-night May and June breaks from £362 per stay
  • Easyjet flights to Edinburgh from £19.99 each way
  • Easyjet Edinburgh 2-night city breaks from £183pp
  • Forest Holidays 4-night lodge breaks with hot-tubs from £565 per stay
  • Scotland 2-night hotel stays from £44 per stay
  • 3-night May breaks in Scotland from £282 per stay

Nicola Sturgeon said: "We expect to lift restrictions on travel to and from England and Wales on 26 April – something which I know will be welcomed by many individuals, and also by the tourism sector."

But the first minister played down the reopening of large-scale tourism, saying that "international travel remains a significant risk."

She added: "It may be the case that we have to endure restrictions on international travel for a bit longer, as the price we pay for much greater normality here in Scotland."

It's worth noting that some of the Scottish islands, including Shetland, Orkney and the Western Isles, are still under the country's level three restrictions, meaning people are still not allowed to go on holiday there.
