This year, school summer holidays dates run from Monday, July 26 to Tuesday, August 31.

It's worth bearing in mind that schools could possibly stay open over the summer holidays, 2021, as there are fears millions will be left behind because of repeated lockdowns.

They might lengthen the day or shorten the summer break to give disadvantaged kids more time to catch up on learning lost to the lockdown, Gavin Williamson hinted on Wednesday, February 24.

From May 17, groups of up to six people from different households or unlimited numbers of people from two households can share a holiday let together.

And from June 21, there will be no restrictions on group sizes for holidays although the dates for coming out of lockdown are not set in stone.

Holidays will only happen on the condition that coronavirus cases continue to fall and vaccines still roll out at pace.
