Cornwall, Jersey & Suffolk top list of UK holiday spots Brits want to visit post-lockdown – with deals from £25 a night

SINCE the roadmap for easing lockdown was revealed, there's been a massive surge in holidays bookings both at home and abroad.

The staycation destinations that Brits are most itching to escape to have been revealed as Cornwall, Jersey and Suffolk.

The study, conducted by Devon holiday park, Cofton Holidays, looked at recent online searches for over 400 top UK holiday destinations to show where holidaymakers want to visit most.

Cornwall topped the list with nearly 10,000 average monthly searches, and St Ives was mentioned as one of the favourite places to visit in the county.

Second place went to the beautiful Channel Island of Jersey, with just over 6,500 monthly searches, while the town of Newmarket in Suffolk came in third with almost 5,500 monthly searches.

While UK breaks are booking up quick, there are still some great deals to be had in these popular destinations:

No city destinations made the top ten in the study, indicating that most holidaymakers are planning a countryside break when lockdown ends.

Self-catered holidays are welcoming guests back again from April 12, which includes sites such as caravan parks, but only with one household sharing a property.

From May 17, groups of up to six people from different households or unlimited numbers of people from two households can share a holiday let together.

From June 21, there will be no restrictions on group sizes for holidays.

It's worth noting though, that the dates for coming out of lockdown are not set in stone.

Holidays will only happen on the condition that coronavirus cases continue to fall and vaccines still roll out at pace.
