Disneyland among California theme parks lifting mask requirements for vaccinated guests

Tuesday is reopening day at California’s theme parks for out-of-state tourists.

Until now, admission was largely limited to California residents, with some theme parks making exceptions for out-of-state visitors with proof of vaccination.

“On June 15, amusement parks and theme parks will be allowed to resume normal operations, meaning a return to full capacity with no physical distancing requirements,” the California Department of Public Heath said in a statement to USA TODAY. However that doesn’t mean things will return to pre-pandemic conditions.

Even though theme parks are allowed to return to full capacity, each park’s pace will vary as operations and local guidelines allow and policies are subject to change based on safety conditions. Additionally, parks will need to follow the state’s broader guidance as outdoor mega events.
