Disneyland tickets, reservations process announced ahead of April 30 reopening

Disneyland Resort released details Tuesday on how ticketing and reservations will work when its parks’ gates open later this month after more than a year of being shut due to the coronavirus pandemic and California’s stringent reopening rules.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park will open to California residents only on April 30. Before they do, tickets will be open for booking mid-month in phases. Because capacity will be limited to 15% due to state guidelines, Disneyland will manage attendance numbers on a new reservation system requiring all visitors to make a reservation for entry ahead of time, the theme park said last month.

“To enter Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure park, both a theme park reservation and valid admission ticket for the same park on the same date are required for guests ages 3 and up,” Disneyland said in a blog post. “Guests must have a valid theme park admission ticket in order to make a reservation. Theme park reservations will be limited and subject to availability.”

On Friday, guests will be able to view a calendar on the Disneyland Parks site showing available reservation dates.

A few days later, on April 12 after 8 a.m. PT, the reservation system will launch for people who had purchased tickets for Disneyland visits prior to the pandemic shutdown.

Then, on April 15, tickets and reservations will be open to other California residents after 8 a.m. PT. After guests make a reservation, they will be able to select and purchase the appropriate ticket.

Disneyland ticket prices 2021

Disneyland announced a seasonal, tiered pricing scheme early last year, with different tiers based on dates for single-day tickets. Prices range from $104 to $209 for single-day tickets and from $220 to $415 for multi-day tickets, depending on guest age, number of days of the visit, whether park-hopping is selected and how many days the tickets are for, according to Touringplans.com. Pricing for Disneyland tickets is not expected to change from those prices.

Reservations for Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will also open on April 15. Hotel reservations are separate from theme park reservations. A reservation at the hotel will not guarantee admission to the park. The hotel is set to reopen on April 29 at limited capacity.

Bookings for select dining locations will open on April 22. Disney did not specify which dining locations will be taking reservations.

All guests will be required to make a reservation through their Disney account, which includes their home address. When making a reservation, guests will need to say that they are a resident of California. Additionally, Disneyland will only allow three households to be grouped together.
