Eurostar launches £39 tickets in time for Christmas

EUROSTAR has launched bargain tickets from £39 each way in time for the Christmas holidays.

Families could head to France, the Netherlands and Belgium for the cheap price to visit the festive markets.

Brits who want to head to Europe without the complication and long waits with flights can take advantage of the fares which have now gone on sale for Christmas and New Year.

It is also a great option for families wanting to head to Disneyland Paris who recently announced their festive line-up, as the Eurostar stops at the theme park.

The cheap train fares are available from December 12 to January 8, although you will have to be quick as the prices will go up with demand.

However, the train line is increasing their routes after being forced to massively reduce them due to the pandemic.

There will be nine daily services between London and Paris, along with five between London and Brussels and two between London and Amsterdam.

Eurostar spokesperson Stefanie Van Mierlo said they were increasing the routes due to demand, telling the Brussels Times: "The pressure has to do with the British holiday period."

It comes after Eurostar said September bookings were four times higher than in the same month in 2020, and expect this weekend to be one of their busiest due to the October half term.

Travellers must currently wear a face mask at all times on the train.

Vaccinated Brits can travel to France without needing a negative Covid test, while the Netherlands still requires a PCR or antigen test before arrival.

Belgium still has quarantine rules in place even if vaccinated – Brits must self-isolate until they get a negative test result after arriving, as well as have a second test on day seven.
