Haven holiday parks' peak summer slots already selling out – as Brits prepare for staycation summer

HAVEN have seen a rush on bookings at their top parks, as Brits plan their summer staycations early.

The company say they have a third of their parks booked for the whole year and it's only January.

Currently they've sold 40,000 more holidays than they would normally expect to at this point in the year.

The south-west of England is in particularly high demand, suggesting that Cornwall and Devon are once again high on the staycation priority list once travel starts to return to normal.

Haven's Chief Marketing Officer, Gerard Tempest told Sun Online Travel: "Devon and Cornwall are proving very popular for bookings, particularly over the school holidays. We expect those areas to sell out a lot earlier than they normally would."

"We're seeing strong booking for May half-term, July, August and even October half-term next year."

Some of the best deals on offer for those peak booking periods are:

  • Easter 3-night breaks from £129 – book now
  • May Half-term breaks from £167 – book now
  • June breaks from £73 – book now
  • Summer School Holidays from £396 – book now

Outside of peak booking times, there are other deals to be had in popular locations. Some of the best, based on four people sharing a two-bed caravan on a 'Stay' basis are:

DEVON – Devon Cliffs park
3-night stay from May 7 – £19.75pp – book now
3-night stay from June 18 – £47.75pp – book now
3-night stay from July 2 – £47.25pp – book now
3-night stay from August 27 – £85pp – book now

CORNWALL – Riviere Sands
3-night stay from May 7 – £23.75pp – book now
3-night stay from June 11 – £43.75pp – book now
3-night stay from July 9 – £61.25pp – book now
3-night stay from August 27 – £96.25pp – book now

KENT – AllHallows

BLACKPOOL – Marton Mere

3-night stay from July 16 – £54.25pp – book now
3-night stay from August 20 – £54.75pp – book now

The trend for UK breaks seems to be one that is continuing in 2021. As Tempest explains: "There were a lot of people who couldn't go abroad last year who switched to staycations and I think that trend will remain as there will still be nervousness and restrictions around international travel. A lot of people are choosing to holiday domestically this year, particularly at holiday parks."

"Those who haven't booked a staycation yet but want to should look outside of school holidays. It's how you've got the best chance of securing availability right now."

Haven recently launched new holiday packages for 2021 – one with no-frills and one with all the added extras.

The two new options are Stay or Stay+Play – with holidays on sale now.

The new packages mean that guests can now choose the holiday option that suits them, rather than paying for facilities they may not wish to use.

Haven Stay holidays are aimed at holidaymakers who want to relax and have a base from which they can explore the surrounding area.

Then there's the Haven Stay+Play option, which offers access to the full range of Haven facilities, including day and evening entertainment, restaurants, swimming pools and activities like bungee trampolining or go-karting.

They continue to offer their 'Coronvarius Book with Confidence Guarantee', which covers any bookings in 2021 if they are disrupted by coronavirus.

Though no one can travel anywhere at the moment, there is a hope travel will be back to normal by the summer thanks to the vaccine rollout.

Haven are planning to open as normal to holidaymakers on March 12.
