The bustling neighbourhood is close to the University of Leicester, the East Midlands Railway train station and to 70-acre Victoria Park, and has a range of bars and restaurants.

"There's lots of young people so you've got the fashion and the food.

"There are quite a few nice coffee shops and little eateries. For a single road, Queen's Road has a lot of shops, too."

"Not that people really want to go into the city centre anymore."

Chris Barana, 30, said: "There are a lot of really good food places and there's variety, too.

"There are a couple of really good bars like Dos Hermanos and a new one that's up the road.

"The people are very friendly. I can't think of any downsides to living here."

Other residents said that the area was cool because of its primary schools and rail connections with Birmingham.

It comes after The Sun's Kara Godfrey revealed why she wasn't surprised to see Margate's Cliftonville voted one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world by Time Out.

Joining the likes of Colonia Americana in Mexico and Cais do Sodré in Lisbon, the neighbourhood was the only one in the UK to make the top 10 in the world.

Shawlands in Glasgow, home to the Burrell Collection, has also been named one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world.
