A TRAVEL expert has revealed her genius hack for saving money on your holiday.

The American traveller took to TikTok to share the luggage hack she says airlines don't want you to know about.

"Most airlines will allow you to take at least one personal item – even Ryanair in spirit.

"But then they'll try to charge 60 dollars (£48) to bring a carry-on bag or a regular suitcase."

"If you ask me, that's pure robbery."

The expert claims that one simple hack can spare you an expensive luggage charge.

She said: "Luckily for you, I have a fix for that.

"Two pieces of travel gear will allow you to take enough clothes and cosmetics for an entire week."

The expert recommends buying a compression bag, which squeezes your items to fit compactly.

Packing all her outfits for a week-long holiday into the bag, she said: "The special part about this is when you zip this up, it's going to compress everything down and make it super skinny."

The expert then packs the compression bag into a rucksack, leaving plenty of space for shoes, cosmetics, water and her laptop.

People were divided about the traveller's simple hack.

Melody said: "I need this and I don't even have any plans to travel."

Another fan said: "Can I fit my PS5 and PC setup inside it?"

Danielle: "No way my plus-size clothes will fit in there."

It comes after travel expert Amanda Finnegan shared her genius hack for keeping your hotel room dark while you sleep.

Amanda showed her fans how she uses the crocodile clips on a hotel coat hanger to fasten the curtains in her room together.
