Inside Princess Cruises newest and largest ship with a three-storey restaurant hub and aerial entertainment | The Sun

PRINCESS Cruises has today unveiled its largest ever ship – and loyal sun readers will want to be first on board.

The aptly-named Sun Princess is due to sail its maiden voyage in February 2024 and sleeps 4,300 guests.

The ship will house the cruise line’s first ever geodesic dome, an entertainment hub inspired by the terraces in Santorini.

During the day, The Dome will be used as a relaxation space with an indoor/outdoor pool.

But at night the pool transforms into a stage for aerial performances and evening entertainment with special lighting effects.

On board, passengers can pick from premium suites with access to a special restaurant, lounge and sun deck or Club Class accommodations and swanky staterooms.

Spread across 21 decks, the ship has more than 29 dining options, including the Piazza which spans three-storeys and has cocktails bars and a pizzeria.

John Padgett, Princess Cruises president, says: “Sun Princess is a new and bespoke ship platform, designed to simultaneously embrace Princess heritage while boldly pressing into the future with iconic, elegant and pure lines unique to our brand.

“A show-stopping, first-of-its-kind Dome on the top deck and suspended glass Piazza in the centre of Sun Princess offer innovative designs showcasing expansive ocean views for incredible opportunities to connect with the sea.”

Inaugural spring and summer sailings will begin around the Mediterranean before the ship moves to the Caribbean in autumn 2024.
