Is Italy on the green list for summer holidays?

Italian Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, is urging tourists to book Italy for their holiday this Summer.

After suffering a massive loss last year with tourism, Italy's national green pass means you can visit the European country.

You would need to prove:

  • You have recovered from Covid
  • You have been vaccinated
  • You have tested negative

But Mr Shapps revealed that Italy will NOT be on the green list, meaning Brits will not be able to travel to the European nation from May 17 without additional restrictions.

It is instead set to be on the 'amber list'.

What are the travel restrictions for Italy?

Most of Europe is set to stay on the amber list.

If you were to travel to Italy this means:

  • You will have to quarantine for 10 days on your return to the UK
  • You will have to take a lateral-flow test to enter the UK
  • And two PCR tests on day two and day eight
