Seven countries were added to the green list – Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania and Norway – while the amber-plus list rules for France were scrapped.

Fully vaccinated Brits can now travel to more than 40 destinations without having to quarantine on their return, thanks to the amber list rules allowing jabbed holidaymakers to skip the UK isolation.

Jet2 relaunched flights and holidays to Spain, including the Canaries and Balearics, as well as Greece and Cyprus in recent weeks, all on the amber list.

Green-list Malta, Croatia and Madeira are also on the list for UK holidaymakers.

Jet2 still has bargain flights to green list destinations from £29, while amber list holidays are still under £300 each even during the busy August break:

Commenting on the demand, Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: "The latest traffic light review from the UK Government comes just in time for the peak summer season.

“It is no surprise to see a sudden spike in bookings to destinations on the green and amber lists, as we know that there is enormous demand out there from holidaymakers who cannot wait to get away. "

Bookings for France are also booming, with the Eurotunnel seeing an increase of 400 per cent for bookings this month.

It was announced this week that Brits returning from amber list France no longer have to quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated.

However, families are still urged to check the entry rules for the green list countries, with destinations including Austria, Norway and Bulgaria still not letting Brits in.

Others are requiring a negative Covid test or proof of vaccination.
