Lalit delivers a lesson in Indian luxury with 5* hotel in heart of London

IF you're looking for something a little more exotic for your accommodation, this 5* Indian hotel in a former grammar school is just a stone’s throw from London's Tower Bridge'

Check in and check it here as we spend the night.

WHAT’S IT LIKE? A luxurious 5* Indian hotel in a former grammar school  just a stone’s throw from Tower Bridge.

ROOMS ANY GOOD? Our Cosy Classroom suite had a tapestry over the bed, big windows and high ceilings.

Rooms include a Nespresso coffee machine and  complimentary mini bar.

The bathroom was too small for a bath but had a Japanese Toto bidet toilet  with heated seat.

EAT HERE OR GRAB A PIZZA? Eat here. Baluchi is a masterclass in tandoor oven cooking and pan-Indian grub. Sat in the cavernous Great Hall, I was blown away by the butter chicken and the juicy  lamb chops. There is even   a wine-and-naan pairing menu.

WHAT ELSE? Check out the Teacher’s Room bar, the tea lounge, spa, gym and outdoor terrace.

SO YOU’D GO BACK? Definitely. I have to find out just what a wine-and-naan pairing is like.

WHAT’S THE DAMAGE?  One night, room only, costs from £130pp based on two sharing. See thelalit.com.
