Lapland trips are ALREADY selling out and forced to add more due to demand – here are the ones to book

LAPLAND trips are already selling out due to soaring demand from Brit holidaymakers who are planning even further ahead to the festive season.

The combination of a boom of new bookings, and those who have rebooked for 2021 after their 2020 trips were suspended, has meant spaces have been filling up rapidly.

Transun has increased Lapland capacity for this December and introduced a new itinerary after a surge in January bookings which the company said left it "effectively sold out".

Speaking to TravelWeekly, James Crawshaw, Transun director, said: "Demand for our Lapland and Northern Lights holidays has been through the roof this January."

Festive break specialist Santa’s Lapland has also added 1,000 seats to its 2021 programme to cater for "high demand".

There are still some Lapland breaks available – if you move quickly.

This may be because Brits feel travel will be definitely be free from restrictions by the end of the year.

The strong demand has already prompted Santa’s Lapland to put its 2022 programme on sale early.

Speaking to Travel Weekly, Joe Ponte, Santa’s Lapland’s chief executive, said: "Visiting Santa in his home, riding in a husky sleigh, elves, igloos, snow, reindeer, tandem skiing, tobogganing, spotting the Northern Lights and so on, all make for a pretty special Christmas. It’s the perfect antidote to help families rekindle the magic."

A government announcement on April 12 will be given for foreign holidays, but is expected to be no earlier than May 17, and more likely to be June 21.
