London Luton ranked Britain's WORST airport for delayed flights — with London Gatwick following in second

LUTON is Britain’s least punctual airport, damning figures reveal.

Flights from the site, home to easyJet, typically left nearly 20 minutes late last year.

Gatwick was second worst with average 18.9min delays and Jersey third on 18.7mins.

Britain’s busiest airport Heathrow was best with take-offs 11mins late. Next were Belfast and Leeds-Bradford, both on 11.3mins.

The average plane is 15mins late, a study of Civil Aviation Authority data for 25 British airports showed. It excluded axed flights.

Luton Airport said: “We regret any delay.” But it also blamed weather, packed airspace, strikes and jets arriving late to its site.
