A new filter on Airbnb allows adventurous travellers to find only the most weird and wonderful stays. 

The aptly named OMG! filter reveals breathtaking homes, boats, and kooky cabins that are available to rent, from a ‘very romantic’ bamboo retreat in Bali to a mushroom-shaped hut in Thailand, and from a guitar-shaped house in South Korea to a converted missile silo in New Mexico and a cow-shaped caravan in Suffolk.

We’ve used the filter to pick out 10 incredible Airbnb listings that’ll make you shout: ‘OMG!’

Aura House, Bali, Indonesia

According to the Airbnb listing, this bamboo house on the west bank of the River Ayung in Indonesia has two ‘very romantic’ bedrooms, a kitchen, living space and a private swimming pool 

‘The atmosphere of Aura House is perfect for people looking to disconnect from their busy city life,’ says the listing. ‘Be ready to be awoken by the sun peeking up into your room and the sounds of the river down below’

According to the listing, this bamboo house on the west bank of the River Ayung has two ‘very romantic’ bedrooms, a kitchen, living space and a private swimming pool. 

The website adds: ‘The atmosphere of Aura House is perfect for people looking to disconnect from their busy city life.

 Writing about their stay at the Airbnb, one recent guest wrote: ‘Personally, I loved to play guitar, so I was excited to stay in the guitar-shaped space. There were thoughtful props like Bluetooth speakers, stand lights, wine openers, and the bedding was neat’

This note-worthy guitar-shaped house in South Korea features a one-bedroom apartment, which has exclusive access to the rooftop terrace and is described by the owners as ‘cozy and welcoming’. 

The website listing says: ‘You can take in the open nature on the third floor of a village without a tall building, or you can take a picnic on the lawn… if you prefer, you can also take ukulele lessons on the first floor of the building.’

Villa Casa Acantilado, Andalucia, Spain

Gaudi-inspired Casa Acantilado, in Salobrena, Spain, ‘boasts a beautiful view of the sea’ – and extraordinary aesthetics

The owners say: ‘The highlight of this accommodation is its private outdoor area with a pool (which can be heated for an extra €5 per night), a garden, an open terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor shower

The two-storey house features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, living space and a kitchen. It sleeps six and costs from £314 per night

‘Boasting a beautiful view of the sea, villa Casa Acantilado is located in Salobrena,’ explain the owners of this stunning rental in Spain. 

They add: ‘The highlight of this accommodation is its private outdoor area with a pool (which can be heated for an extra €5 per night), a garden, an open terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor shower. 

‘Share a homemade meal on your terrace while enjoying fantastic views over the sea and the nearby mountains.’

The owner says: ‘It is covered in my art and sculpture, as well as some beautiful objects I collected. The sea underneath includes many colorful fish, a little coral, and sometimes small stingrays. If you leave sweet water out, hummingbirds will visit’

Alianz Loft, Heredia, Costa Rica

The cow-shaped accommodation in the Suffolk countryside has a ground-floor double bed with a three-quarter bed above, and admission to the on-site farm park – which features ponies, alpacas and goat yoga [it’s a thing] – is included

Guests can explore the farm out of hours and can even help give the animals breakfast and clean out their stables in the morning
